NSW Labor might do better if it was playing Rugby as it has become adept at ‘the flick pass’ and ‘the run around’, according to Member for Davidson, Jonathan O’Dea.

“Earlier this year, I asked the Minister for Police (Campbell) a four part Question On Notice, concerning the activities of Private Investigators, on behalf of a local constituent.

“The Minister replied by saying two of the parts were a matter for the Fair Trading Minister (Burney).

“These were then re-asked as a Question to the Minister for Fair Trading, who replied by saying they should be directed to the Police Minister!

“The Government appeared confused over which Minister has which responsibility,” Mr O’Dea said.

“There was then another Government Ministerial re-shuffle. So I asked both new Ministers the same question again.

“Once again the Police Minister (Kelly, via Keneally) referred me to the Fair Trading Minister, and the Fair Trading Minister (Judge) referred me to the Police Minister,” Mr O’Dea said.

“Four different Ministers and still no answer! What future does the State have if the Government is in such disarray?

“How will Labor ever address the major issues facing the State if four Government Ministers can’t answer two simple questions between them?”

“It is clear the ‘masters of spin’ have become the ‘masters of the flick pass’, and ‘the run around’, Mr O’Dea said.

“Instead of picking up the ball and taking responsibility, they simply pass the buck and leave others to address issues.

“When Ministers can’t answer a simple Question on Notice, it is time to step aside and let others take the field and kick a few goals for the future of New South Wales,” Mr O’Dea concluded.
