A new education booklet on healthy living has prompted an excellent community response, according to Member for Davidson, Jonathan O’Dea.

Health Living booklet“The 8 page, full colour publication, “Health Living for EVERYbody” was recently distributed to every household in the Davidson electorate,” Mr O’Dea said.

“It contains a wealth of information on healthy eating and keeping fit.

“For those who would like to begin an exercise program, the free booklet includes a five steps guide to help get you started and an accompanying chart, showing the effectiveness of various exercise routines.

”Articles on enjoying a balanced diet and nutrition emphasise the importance of healthy eating, while information on the Body Mass Index help readers assess excess weight and obesity,” Mr O’Dea said.

Michelle Patterson of Belrose wrote, “It’s great to see someone making the effort to educate the public on how to live a healthy lifestyle.”

“Another constituent has commented on the comprehensive guide and chart for immunisation and has ordered an additional copy for her daughter’s growing family,” Mr O’Dea said.

“Of special interest to many young families is the list of preventable diseases, how to recognise them and the serious impact they can have, as well as the possible side effects of vaccination.

“The free booklet also includes a comprehensive listing of hospitals, as well as Community Health Centres and other health organisations servicing the Davidson Electorate.

“If anyone missed out on receiving a copy of “Health Living for EVERYbody”, please do not hesitate to contact my office on 9880 7400,” Mr O’Dea concluded.
