Member for Davidson, Jonathan O’Dea, has a heart for his electorate – and now a booklet to help keep the heart healthy.

Health Living booklet“Health Living for EVERYbody” is a handy, full colour booklet, which I am distributing free to all households in the Davidson electorate,” Mr O’Dea said.

“The timely publication is packed with information on eating well and keeping fit. “Articles on enjoying a balanced diet and nutrition emphasise the importance of healthy eating, while information on the Body Mass Index will help readers assess excess weight and obesity,” he said.

“The benefits of daily exercise are also highlighted along with five steps to get you started and an accompanying chart, showing the effectiveness of various exercise routines.

“For those who want to go further, there’s also a helpful list of health and lifestyle websites, packed with healthy living information.

“Of particular interest to growing families is a report on breastfeeding and a comprehensive guide and chart on immunisation. “Additional information explains the preventable diseases in more detail, how to recognise their symptoms and the serious impact they can have, as well as the possible side effects of vaccination,” Mr O’Dea said.

“Articles on high risk eating behaviours, childhood obesity and diabetes further highlight the need for a balanced diet and an appropriate exercise regime.

“A comprehensive back-cover listing of hospitals, as well as Community Health Centres and other health organisations will provide a handy, ready-reference for Davidson constituents,” Mr O’Dea said.

“The booklet aims to help those in the Davidson electorate to live well and be well, so together, we can enjoy “Healthy living for EVERYbody”.
