Wakehurst MP Brad Hazzard, Pittwater MP Rob Stokes, Manly MP Mike Baird and Davidson MP Jonathan O’Dea today met with Health Minister Reba Meagher on the future of health services for the Northern Beaches.

“We have been reassured the Government is moving ahead on the new hospital service on the Northern Beaches,” Mr Hazzard said.

“Today’s meeting with Health Minister Reba Meagher was constructive and she has reassured us the new hospital facilities will go ahead.”

“The Minister informed us clinical staff on the Northern Beaches will be consulted about the construction and configuration of their new offices, surgeries and operating theatres,” Mr Stokes said.

“She also confirmed the project outline will be presented to Cabinet very soon.”

“The important message today was the Minister confirming next year’s consultation is about the configuration not the future – that is there is no doubt it will be built,” Mr Baird said.

“On behalf of residents we’d like the Government to just do it – but we understand it takes some time,” he said.

“The Northern Beaches community have been calling out for a new health service for far too long,” Mr O’Dea said.

“We all want this project to turn from words and sketches into a reality but obviously the Government and the community need it to bring about the best health outcomes,” he said.

“We have thanked the Minister for her frank discussion – and ask her to ensure the Cabinet, planning and community consultation process proceeds as quickly as possible,” Mr Hazzard said.
