The Liberal Member for Davidson, Jonathan O’Dea asked a question in Parliament earlier this year regarding the planning stage for the Northern Beaches Hospital at Frenchs Forest.  In response, the Minister for Health, Reba Meagher indicated that it would be completed in the second half of 2007.

“Contrary to Reba Meagher’s previous answer, and in response to my further questioning, the Minister for Health has today admitted that the Project Definition Plan (part of the planning process) will not even commence until early 2008 and will take up to a further 12 months to be completed,” Mr O’Dea said.

“The ongoing project delay is indicative of NSW Labor’s lack of commitment to northern Sydney and its incompetence in managing the delivery of public services.

“The people of the Northern Beaches and surrounds are understandably disillusioned with Labor in relation to health services and generally. The four Liberal MPs representing the Peninsula will continue the fight for better treatment of local residents.”
