Bus services for the Forest/Davidson area are to be boosted with the introduction of 35 additional weekly bus services starting from 21 November.

The Member for Davidson, Jonathan O’Dea said the additional services on the 270, 271 and 274 bus routes will give customers more choice when planning their bus trip, especially at shoulder morning and afternoon peak periods.

“There has been unprecedented customer growth across the Forest/Davidson area and it’s essential that we continue to provide additional capacity in areas where it is needed most.

“By giving people additional services and more options, we’re providing better travel opportunities to key employment and education hubs while delivering an important bus service linking the Forest/Davidson area and the Sydney CBD,” Mr O’Dea said.

These improvements will provide more bus trips earlier and later during weekday morning and afternoon peak periods, for people living in the Forest/Davidson area.

Customers can go online and use the trip planner at transportnsw.info to plan ahead.

They can also plan trips by downloading real-time transport apps, and customers can receive bus service updates for their area by following the new Transport Info Twitter handle @BusesNorth. Alternatively, they can call 131 500.

The additional services will be introduced as part of the NSW Government’s Growth Services Program which delivers new and/or additional bus services for customers when and where they’re needed. Since March 2011, the NSW Government has introduced more than 16,100 extra weekly public transport services.

Additional bus trips will be introduced on the following routes:

  • Route 270 Terrey Hills to City via Forest Way
  • Route 271 Terrey Hills to City via Belrose
  • Route 274 Davidson to City
