Member for Davidson, Jonathan O’Dea, has announced Penny Howell, a resident of St Ives, is the 2021 Local Woman of the Year for the Davidson electorate.

“Penny has made an enormous contribution to the community especially through her volunteer work for St Ives Football Club, Northside Radio FM99.3, St Ives community public forums and as a musician,” Mr O’Dea said.

Penny is a former President and current Special Projects Officer at St Ives Football Club. In these roles she also helped fundraise to buy defibrillators for local sports clubs.

Penny volunteers as a radio presenter at Northside Radio FM99.3 and is the driving force behind various community forums for local issues, especially in St Ives. She is also a musician who has recently performed for charitable organisations in person and online during the COVID crisis.

“Penny is an indomitable spirit who enjoys giving back to her community. It is a pleasure to acknowledge her as the 2021 Local Woman of the Year for the Davidson electorate,” Mr O’Dea concluded.
