Two students from schools in the Davidson electorate are being celebrated for their extraordinary academic achievement of being first in the state in a 2022 HSC subject.
Rachel Chae Yeon Park from Roseville College came first for Korean and Literature. Seyed Kamyar Hosseini Salkadeh from Killara High was first in Persian Continuers.
Member for Davidson, Jonathan O’Dea said it was very pleasing to see that Killara High School has this year shot up the rankings by 120 places to be ranked 55th in the state and the highest ranked public comprehensive high school.
“I have visited Killara High and have been impressed with the quality of students and teachers. The school has wonderful facilities and has had two multimillion dollar upgrades in recent years thanks to the NSW Government making significant investments in school infrastructure at Killara and other schools in the electorate” Mr O’Dea said.
Davidson electorate schools were well represented on the 2022 HSC Honour Roll of students who achieved a result of 90 marks or more in a subject.
“Killara High is on that list with a total of 148 achievers. I would also point to the “little school that could” the fairly new Lindfield Learning Village, with a tiny cohort of 26 students and eight students on the list” Mr O’Dea said.
Also on the list for students with 90 marks or more in a subject were;
- Davidson High 19 distinguished achievers
- St Ives High School 43 distinguished achievers
- Roseville College 106 distinguished achievers
- Brigidine College St Ives 85 distinguished achievers
- Covenant Christian School 27 distinguished achievers
- Masada College 24 distinguished achievers
“I congratulate the students, their teachers and parents for the tremendous effort they all put in for the 2022 HSC. Regardless of what mark they achieved, students who received their HSC results today have learnt a lot about resilience and determination during 13 years of schooling and especially during the pandemic. I wish all HSC students success for the future” Mr O’Dea said.
