Following the Federal election result on Saturday, the State Member for Davidson, Jonathan O'Dea welcomed the results in northern Sydney.

He said, “I would like to congratulate my federal colleagues, including Dr. Brendan Nelson in the Bradfield Electorate for achieving a solid result.   Bronwyn Bishop in Mackellar, Tony Abbott in Warringah, Joe Hockey in North Sydney and Phillip Ruddock in Berowra also held their seats again with strong margins”.

The outgoing Prime Minister John Howard and his team turned the Australian economy around to provide unprecedented prosperity.

“I wish John and Janette Howard the very best in their future life and thank them for their enormous contribution to the Australian way of life and the Liberal Party.” Jonathan O'Dea said.

“For my constituents in the Davidson Electorate I was encouraged at the number of calls from people who wanted to vote for the incumbent Federal government.  As a Member of Parliament and a Liberal Party member I believe that it is important to listen to the voice of all people” said Jonathan O'Dea.

“We must all focus on the future and build for improved quality of life that we want. The key issues that affect all of us in daily life are around infrastructure, environment, health, education and water management.  Overdevelopment is a burning issue in my electorate and I continue to welcome comments from constituents about its impact on our way of life”.
