Work to deliver an accessibility upgrade at Roseville Station, including two new lifts, will commence in the coming weeks after planning approval was confirmed.

The upgrade is part of the NSW Government’s Transport Access Program, an initiative to deliver safe, modern and accessible public transport infrastructure across the state.

“I would like to thank everyone who took the time to provide feedback on the plans during the consultation period,” Jonathan O’Dea, Member for Davidson said.

“This upgrade will make travel easier for our less mobile customers, including people with a disability, limited mobility, parents and carers with prams and travellers with luggage.”

The upgrade will include:

  • two new lifts to provide access between Hill Street, the existing footbridge and the station platform
  • accessible pathways to the station and a new ramp connecting the Pacific Highway to the footbridge
  • canopies at the Hill Street entrance and over the platform boarding assistance zone
  • additional accessible parking and a kiss and ride space on Hill Street
  • improved amenities including a male and female ambulant toilet and family accessible toilet, and
  • additional bicycle parking.

The contract for the upgrade has been awarded to Downer EDI with the new lifts scheduled to be completed in 2022.
