Customers on Sydney’s North Shore and the Forest area of the Northern Beaches will benefit from more than 70 extra weekly bus services from the end of April on routes 194, 270 and 271.

Member for Davidson, Jonathan O’Dea said, “The NSW Government is committed to delivering better public transport services when and where they are needed to give customers more choice around when they travel.”

“Route 194 operates between St Ives and the Sydney CBD. From 28 April we’ll be providing extra services either side of the morning and afternoon peak periods and in the evening on weekdays.

“All up there will be 45 additional trips each week, with the first service from St Ives leaving at 5:45am and the last trip returning from the Queen Victoria Building departing at 9:15pm,” Mr O’Dea said.

An additional 26 weekly services will also be added across routes 270 and 271 operating from Terrey Hills and Belrose respectively to the Sydney CBD.

The Davidson MP said, “Some of the extra services will be added either side of the morning and afternoon peaks on weekdays. We’ll also be adding six new trips on Sundays in order to create a more consistent service across the weekend.”

Customers will be able to plan their journeys and view the extra services in the Trip Planner online at www.transportnsw.info from 15 April. The extra services are being funded by the NSW Government’s Growth Services Program.

Mr O’Dea said, “The NSW Government has delivered more than 9,000 additional weekly bus services in Sydney’s north through this program.”
