On their Facebook page, Ausgrid advise 24,000 homes and business are still without power.

Many are in Davidson Electorate and nearby, including in parts of Mount Colah, Roseville, Gordon, Killara, Allambie Heights, Pymble, East Lindfield, Frenchs Forest, Chatswood, Forestville, East Killara, Willoughby, Davidson, Castlecrag, Hornsby Heights, Mount Ku-ring-gai, Lindfield, Belrose, Kareela, Middle Cove,Castle Cove, Roseville Chase and pockets of other surrounding areas.

Customers in the worst affected areas are being advised to prepare now for another night without power overnight into Thursday.

28,000 customers have had power restored since the severe storm yesterday .

The storms caused extensive damage to the electricity network and crews are responding to more than 1,800 hazards such as fallen power lines, damaged poles and fallen trees.

As these hazards are made safe Ausgrid will continue restoring power where it is safe to do so.

Extra crews from Newcastle and the Central Coast are assisting with the storm response

Head of System Control Stuart Donaldson explains crews need to check each of the hazards (more than 1,800) on the network before power can safely be restored.
